About us

KAR Tools is a mobile tool dealer. Our trucks visit auto repair shops, dealerships and fleets on a weekly route, selling hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment and shop equipment, and handling tool repairs.

Contact

Calls and texts to this number are answered by an automated assistant, not a person. Calls are recorded and transcribed, and callers are told so at the start of every call. If you would rather not be recorded, text us or email info@kartools.com instead.

Text message terms

Program: KAR Tools customer care texts. When you text (561) 556-8381, we reply about your question, the truck schedule or your tool request.

How you opt in: by texting (561) 556-8381 first. We only reply to your messages. We log the time and the wording of your consent.

• Message frequency varies with your requests.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP at any time to opt out. You will get one confirmation and no further texts. Reply START to opt back in.
• Reply HELP for help, or email info@kartools.com.
• We do not send marketing or promotional texts under this program.
• Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything from us.
• We never text about credit accounts, balances or payments under this program.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

What we collect

• Your phone number when you call or text us.
• What you tell us: messages, tool requests, and call audio and transcripts.
• Your text message consent and opt-out history.

How we use it

• To answer your calls and texts, handle your tool requests and follow up with you by phone or at the truck.
• To recognise returning customers by phone number, so we can help faster.
• To keep records of our customer conversations and honour your text preferences.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers that run our phone line, text messaging, automated assistant, team messaging, hosting and backups, and only so they can provide those services to us under contracts that restrict their use of your information. We do not sell your information.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

How long we keep it

Call recordings: up to 12 months. Messages, call transcripts, summaries and tool requests, including copies in our team messaging workspace: 24 months. Your text message consent and opt-out history: 5 years, so we can show we honoured your choices. Backups are encrypted and rotate within 35 days.

Security

We protect your information with encryption and access controls. If a security breach affects your personal information as defined by Florida law, we will notify you as the Florida Information Protection Act requires.

Your choices

Reply STOP to stop texts. To ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it, email info@kartools.com; we answer within 30 days. Your text opt-in and opt-out history is kept even after a deletion request.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the effective date above.

Terms

The KAR Tools phone and text line is run by KAR Tools, Inc. Information about tool availability and the truck schedule is given as a convenience and can change. Our assistant cannot take orders or payments, quote prices or discuss credit accounts; it can take a message or a tool request for us to follow up on by phone or at the truck. Orders, prices and payments are handled with us at the truck. Nothing on this page is an offer to sell.
